The formation of the largest MRO provider has been completed

Завершено формирование крупнейшего провайдера ТОиР ВС

Aeroflot, as part of the implementation of the strategy for the development of maintenance and repair (hereinafter referred to as MRO) of aircraft, has completed the formation of the largest MRO enterprise in Russia and Eastern Europe on the basis of the Aeroflot Technics enterprise. The concentration of all Aeroflot fleet maintenance processes within the framework of a subsidiary provider is aimed at improving production and economic efficiency.

Thus, among Russian MRO organizations, Aeroflot Technics has the largest areas of hangar complexes, which allow up to 19 aircraft, including wide-body aircraft, to be simultaneously marked up for basic maintenance. It has the most extensive network of 15 linear stations in the regions of Russia – from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka. To date, the provider provides simultaneous technical support for more than 300* Aeroflot Group aircraft. By the end of 2023, the volume of work performed by the engineering and technical staff of Aeroflot Technics exceeded 2.5 million. people / hours, and the total number of employees of the company is more than 2.6 thousand people.

Consolidation of maintenance resources from a specialized provider within the Group has significant potential, both from the point of view of economic efficiency and from the point of view of competence development, which is especially in demand in the current conditions of sanctions restrictions. To this end, production facilities (three hangar complexes at Sheremetyevo Airport, linear stations at a number of Russian airports, the entire volume of operational maintenance, storage facilities) and the personnel resource of the Aeroflot Maintenance Department (DTO) were gradually transferred to Aeroflot Technics. In the future, it is planned to expand the production volumes of Aeroflot Technics by fully consolidating the technical capacities and resources of the Group.

The successful experience of implementing such a modern MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) business model is widely represented in international practice. The largest aviation holdings in the world have their own subsidiaries for the organization of MRO. Aeroflot Technics is aimed at servicing not only the volume of the Group's airline fleet, but also the market of external customers. Working in a competitive market additionally motivates you to improve quality, efficiency and productivity. Aeroflot Technics provides a full cycle of performing forms of maintenance – from light to heavy, including the most time-consuming 8- and 12-year-old C-check. At the same time, the company is constantly working to expand its competencies in the field of component repair.

*excluding aircraft, the technical support of which is performed independently by the DTO of Rossiya Airlines.
