Aeroflot Technics, an aircraft maintenance and repair provider, has opened a certified workshop for repairing landing gear racks for Airbus A320 family aircraft. The company has successfully passed the audit and received the approval of the Federal Air Transport Agency under the FAP-285 certificate for performing this type of work on the basis of its own hangar complexes at Sheremetyevo Airport. As part of the audit, the work of departments, professional competencies of employees and internal regulatory documents of the organization were checked, production, warehouse and office premises were inspected. Aeroflot Technics has fully confirmed compliance with the requirements of the regulator. Previously, the provider performed the replacement of the front and main landing gear racks on Airbus A320 family aircraft, now the new workshop will perform their full maintenance, including major repairs. To perform such work, Aeroflot Technics has all the necessary equipment and competencies of engineering and technical personnel. In accordance with the aircraft manufacturer's operating manual, a planned detailed inspection of landing gear racks on Airbus A320 family aircraft is carried out once every 10 years (for chassis manufactured after 2016 – once every 12 years) or every 20,000 flight cycles, whichever comes first. Aeroflot Group has the largest fleet of Airbus A320 family aircraft in Russia. The workshop for the repair of landing gear racks, after entering production facilities, will fully meet the needs of the Group's airlines. In the future, Aeroflot Technologies plans to continue working on expanding the permits for the repair of landing gear racks for other types of aircraft. Recall that this year the provider was the first in Russia to master the replacement of landing gear racks on Airbus A330 and Boeing 777 aircraft.
